Title: Lex Valk Evening of Jazz & Blues

Description: • Houston\’s jazz community is coming together on Sunday, August 8, in support of bassist Lex Valk, whose wife Mary is battling an insidious form of cancer. The treatment costs have proven staggering, which for a musician without insurance can create an insurmountable financial crisis. Fortunately, friends and colleagues from the music community have hatched a plan.
A nucleus of musicians will host an evening of jazz and blues with all proceeds going directly to the Valk family. A few of the world-class artists performing will be Category 5, Cody Moffett Jambalaya, Danielle Reich, Eddie Lewis Living Rhythm, Joe Locascio & Woody Witt, The Thomas Borling band, and Tianna Hall. There will also be an extended open-mic jam session. Of course, Lex will be an on-hand manning the bass whenever possible.
This will be an incredible musical experience for a wonderful cause. Join us for a $10 minimum donation that goes entirely to the Valk Family. There will also be a silent auction and CDs for sale!
Ovations Night Club is located at 2536 Times Boulevard in Rice Village (at the intersection of Times & Kirby). It is a beautiful venue with a full bar and free parking.
